The Menu / The perfect run

One of my favorite parts of the week is figuring out what will be on "the menu" for the following week. I love making meal plans, writing grocery lists, and then rewriting the list according to the geography of the aisles in the grocery store. I know, I know. I'm a total freak. But it's fun for me, okay?

Anyway, I think I'll start posting my weekly dinner menus on the sidebar. If I get a particular recipe online, I'll be sure to link to it. You'll notice that I'll repeat a lot of stuff from week to week. Routine is good for me.

Subject change...

Last night's run was easily the most enjoyable run I've ever had. All six miles were virtually effortless. I found my groove, I was in the zone... however you want to put it. I tried out my new $35 sweat-wicking t-shirt, which wicked the sweat as promised. The fabric felt cool, airy, and light. Even though my breathing was labored, I never felt overly fatigued or out of control. The weather was absolutely perfect. The running gods were smiling on me. Yay!

Morgan- I found your blog a couple of weeks ago. I think it is just great--- written well and very inspirational. Thank you for updating often and sharing your weight loss journey. It means a lot (to me) to see a new update just about every day and to see what is going on with you.

I have about 40 pounds to lose. I'm on my way- but it's been a tough slog. Your site is reminding me of what it was like to run and feel great about the accomplishment of it.

Thanks for writing. It's really helping keep me on track. I've got a weigh in tomorrow!

OH my word! I thought was the only one that did that with my grocery lists! Oh yeah, they HAVE to be geographically written!

Hi, I don't have an online name, so I apologize for being anonymous. Congrats on all of your success! Can you tell us what type of running program you are following? Thanks, Marie

Hey Morgan,
I'm so glad that you had such a good run. The running gods are good huh? :) I will definitely be checking out your weekly menus. I love trying new recipes as long as they're relatively easy! Oh and I totally rewrite my grocery lists so that I don't have to run around all over the store. It just makes more sense to write the list how I walk through the store. Stay focused and keep your groove.

Morgan, I would love to see your menu plans. I have such a hard time coming up with new ideas that are quick & easy to prepare. I'm like you, I repeat alot of dinners because its quick and easy and I like them, but I also wind up in a rut sometimes. Keep up the great work! I love reading your blog.
