You just keep counting to 10 over and over and eventually you almost do the work automatically. And before you know it, you're at the finish! That's how it was for me! One of the first things they said was when running a marathon pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional. A little frightening but also a reminder that the last miles will be mind over matter.
